Since February 2025, I’ve been staying with my family in Austin, Texas, USA. A family contacted me before I arrived to take care of their 2 children. A 5 year old girl and a 3 year old boy accompany them from school until bedtime so we do homework and activities until I get the children ready for bed so I shower them, prepare meals, we eat together after brushing teeth and quiet time with evening reading. I speak to them in French as they are in a French school here and I interact with the school and life here in English.

Since January 2024 I’ve been working with baby prestige for over a year, looking after children from 5 months to 8 years old. I look after children in hotels, I accompany them on Disney days, I accompany groups of children to events and I am alone with them or sometimes it’s to help the parents. I am able to look after children in all circumstances. I’ve always had good feedback from families and the company.

Since 2019, I take care of a family with 2 children. When I started there was only a boy aged about 6. I would prepare and feed him in the evening, then we would do activities in the evening i.e. board games. Then he’d get ready for bed, so I’d put him in his pajamas and brush his teeth. When he was ready, I read him a story.
When his little sister arrived, I started giving them their evening meal, so I gave the little one a bottle and the big one a meal. I played with the children and then put the little one to bed, so I changed her diaper and read her a story. Then, once she was asleep, I played board games with her big brother. Then I accompanied the little one during her transition to the potty and also when she started to eat.

In 2017, I was helping my neighbor with her son because she was working in Paris, so I would go 2 or 3 times a week to pick up the child after school. Then we’d go home for a snack. Then I’d do homework with him. Once we’d finished, we’d do activities and play with the other children my mom was looking after. As my mother is a child minder, we’ve always had lots of games at home.

I have family in the United States, so thanks to my cousins I was able to join in summer 2017 a program called BreakThrough, which is a kind of support and refresher course for children. I took part for 1 and a half months. The days consisted of taking care of several children per group, so in the morning we did fun exercises, then at lunchtime we served them lunch, then the afternoon was more devoted to sports activities and a snack. The children were aged between 12 and 14. Most of them spoke English and Spanish.
